SCBWF Weekend (Trip A) – Three Lakes WMA and Joe Overstreet Road and Landing

**Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival Weekend**
A group of local trip leaders, tour guides, and industry vendors are planning the return of the SCBWF in 2024. As a ‘warm up’ to the festival’s return the foundational group is conducting a birding weekend to showcase the immense diversity of bird species found in our area. The weekend will include trips from 19-23 January. Space Coast Audubon is providing support through promotion, hosting, and field trip leader involvement.
**TRIP A: Three Lakes WMA and Joe Overstreet Road & Landing**
Trip Leader: David Simpson, Birding with David Simpson
Meet at Three Lakes WMA main entrance on Old Canoe Creek Road. Travel through the Three Lakes WMA, along Joe Overstreet road and end the trip at Joe Overstreet Landing (boat launch area). Target species for this trip include: Red-cockaded Woodpeckers, Bachman’s Sparrow, Brown-headed Nuthatch, Eastern Bluebird, Red-headed Woodpecker, and Snail Kite.
Logistics: Transport by personal vehicles. Port-o-potty restroom available at 3 Lakes WMA and a restroom building is located at the Joe Overstreet Landing
What to Bring: Water, snack, bug repellent, sunscreen, binoculars.
