Monthly Meeting – Potluck, Birder Social and Nature Center Supply Drive
May 19, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Doors Open: 6:30pm
Meeting Starts: 6:45pm
Our May monthly meeting will be a potluck and social gathering. Kate Wells, Environmental Program Supervisor Rotary Park Nature Center, will share a few highlights from their nature center. Many people have enjoyed visiting the center during several of our “Stroll with a Naturalist” gatherings. To help support the Nature Center, we are kindly asking everyone to consider bringing an item from their wish list. See the image in this Meetup for full list. Sample of items needed: Paper towels, glue sticks, washable markers, paper clips (especially small ones), Acrylic paints (especially WHITE), Tempura paints (especially WHITE), Toddler books about Florida’s plants and/or animals, bleach, rolled oats such as Quaker Oats (used for beetle bedding)

Potluck Social
We kindly request each person bring a dish to share. Please indicate in the comments which category of food or drink item you plan to bring. Seeing a general list of what people plan to bring helps us to avoid having too many items in the same category. Generally we need the biggest quantity of meat and casserole category items. We will provide serving utensils, silverware and power strips to plug in crockpots and warming trays.
** Sustainable Event **
Please bring your own personal food service gloves, if preferred, a cloth reusable napkin and a container for leftovers. We are looking for 3-4 volunteers to stay after the event closes to hand wash, dry and put away the silverware and utensils. This will enable us to use the Church’s dinner service items and alleviate use of plastic. Please add a comment/reply to the Meetup event or email: [email protected] if you would like to volunteer.
