Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

We’ll launch from Sendler Education Outpost off N Courtenay Parkway in the Merritt Island National Refuge. This is an easy paddle around a lagoon in the Refuge. The Outpost has plenty of parking, but not where the launch site is. Go to the end of the road in the Outpost and there is a loop with a couple launch sites similar to the picture above. Drop off your craft, then park up the road closer to the outpost building and pavilion – it’s a short walk back. This is a remote area and there are no rental opportunities here. We’ll meet there at 9:30 to be in the water by 9:45.
